PCA jubilee

20 years of PCA and 30 years of accreditation in Poland

Two decades ago - on January 1, 2001 - the Polish Center for Accreditation, a national body authorized to confirm the competences of entities operating in the field of conformity assessment, was established. However, the accreditation system in Poland has been operating since the 1990s.

The first accreditation certificate was granted to a testing laboratory in 1992, a certification body - in 1993, a calibration laboratory - in 1997, an inspection body - in 2000, an EMAS verifier and a GHG verifier - in 2006, a proficiency testing provider - in 2009 and a medical laboratory - in 2010.

Read an interview with Lucyna Olborska, Director of the Polish Center for Accreditation about the double jubilee celebrated this year: how accreditation in Poland developed over the years, the support that accreditation gives to the economy, as well as the challenges related to COVID-19 pandemic and PCA's development plans.
